Indium bromide (indium tribromide), chemical formula InBr3, is an inorganic compound consisting of indium and bromine. It is a Lewis acid used in organic synthesis. It has the same structure as aluminum chloride, with six coordinated indium atoms. When molten, its structure is dimer In2Br6, and it is also predominantly dimer in the gas phase. Indium bromide dimer has bridged bromine atoms with similar structure to aluminum chloride dimer Al2Cl6. Indium bromide can be directly synthesized from bromine and indium.
